Consortium Rivalry Lo
Basketball culture had its golden times in the ‘80s and ‘90s with adidas playing an integral role in the scene, offering a range of impressive court footwear such as the popular Metro Attitude and Conductor. In 1986, the Rivalry was released as a very close relation to the Conductor and came in a huge array of colour combinations. The original colourway paid tribute to one of New York City’s top basketball teams at the time, the reason every New York fan had to have their hands on a pair. For Consortium, adidas Originals brings back the Rivalry Lo in a nostalgic move with two colourways: the iconic OG of white, blue and orange is matched up alongside rival Chicago team colours in black, red and white. The reissue is upgraded with the quality materials that Consortium is known for. Rivalry New York
white / blue / orange
The hero colourway goes OG, to a time when one of New York City’s basketball teams was battling it out for the top seat. This reissue comes with a high quality leather upgrade especially for Consortium. An off-white midsole and different tones of white leather on the upper subtly hint at the shoe’s vintage provenance, as do the thick stitching along the midsole and perforation on the upper. Two-toned 3-Stripes in blue and orange feature on the medial, while more accents of colour are found on the ribbed heel tab, ghillie eyelet, around the tongue and along the midsole. Premium touches can be found on the tongue, which has gone from vinyl to supersoft leather and features the Consortium fabric loop tag wrapped around it. Rivalry Chicago
black / red / white
At the time of the original Rivalry release, the competition on the courts between New York and Chicago was fierce; the second colourway is inspired by this rivalry, featured in black, red and white. The upper is predominately black premium leather with perforation on the toe box and between the two-tone 3-Stripes mark in red and white. Contrast stitching is found subtly in red on the upper and heavily in white along the midsole. A ribbed heel tab houses the debossed Trefoil, while the leather tongue features a fabric loop tag with the Consortium logo.
The Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro in Black arrives. Also known as the 'BRED' edition, Black-Red. Another master class in Tinker Hatfield designed shoes, the Jordan 4 arrived back in 1989.
